Have you an old post you would love to re post?

Have you an old post you would love to repost? Perhaps a post you wrote from the heart but was not read by as many as you would wish?
During the week I wrote a post in which I wondered what makes a post popular. I called it “Diary of a popular post”. One of the comments on that post made me think. It was written by Dr Hows Science Wows.
She said ” I sometimes even feel sorry for the posts that just sit there with hardly anyone reading them”photo credit: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/alyssafilmmaker/3645537050/">Alyssa L. Miller</a> via <a href="http://photopin.com">photopin</a> <a href="http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/2.0/">cc</a>

So that got me thinking. If I could, what post would I choose to share above all others? Out of all the posts I have written, which would I want others to read once more, and why?

So now I am asking you, which of your posts would you choose to live once more? If you would like to send me that one post of yours, I will post it here on “My thoughts on a page”. I will link to your blog and give you full credit. The purpose of this is to allow you post that one post once again, to a new audience. It will also allow readers here to read it and discover you and your blog.

I have not fully thought this through, but I was thinking of posting these posts over a weekend or two depending on how popular it is. It would be similar to my “series of letters” posts.

If you would like to contribute a post please email me using the “contact me” link on my blog or here. I would like you to firstly outline why you chose this post and what it means to you. I will need you to copy and paste your post in the email, as I will not be reblogging. If you are including photos please ensure they are correctly credited. Also include your blog address.

So are you interested? If so start thinking. What post would you choose?

I am looking forward to reading them, and especially your reasons for choosing that particular post.

  1. [ Smiles ] I have lots of old posts that are great, but I would never repost them. I rather people go through my archives.

By the way, I see nothing wrong with the idea of other people reposting their own work.

    1. I don’t either, I have reposted some of mine.
However I thought it would be a way for some to show that post to readers on a different blog, who have not read it before, especially if it meant a lot to them but was not read by many.
I don’t think anyone ever goes through my archives!

      1. [ Smiles ] Oh, you might be surprised; I am sure that some of your readers go through your archives.

  2. I love this idea! When I first started my blog, of course my readers were very minimal. Therefore, my earlier posts missed out on a lot of attention that they would have received if I posted them today. I’ve only re-posted one of my posts and that was for a response to a comment, where the post seemed fitting.

However, I do often look back with a bit of disappointment that so many had so few readers. So I think that this is a very thoughtful idea! I sent you one through your contact page, but the formatting got messed up when I sent it. If it doesn’t work, then I can email it to you through a normal email.

    1. It might have looked wrong but it came through perfectly. I will try to schedule it for tomorrow as that is the special day mentioned. I have had no success with scheduling posts up to now but I will do my best to post yours tomorrow. I am away most of the day but at worst will post tomorrow evening. Thanks so much for your contribution. BTW do you want to include a photo?

      1. Good! I’m glad it came over okay. I just sent you a photo for it. As far as posting it, whenever is fine. It’s your time that you’re taking to do this. I just appreciate you doing it. You’re very kind.

  3. Oohh very interested Tric. Great idea! My first ever post took so much out of me. It was the first thing i’d ever written, (besides academic stuff) and it was never intended for an audience. I don’t enjoy reading it, but when I do, it takes me back to that place in my mind.

    1. It’s funny how some can immediately identify the one post they would like to be reposted and others need more time. I look forward to your contribution.

  4. Sometimes I really love those lonely posts that reflect my heart by aren’t seen by anyone else. They feel more honest somehow, since I started this whole thing to express myself to myself……

    1. I know exactly what you mean. I have a few of them and they are like my own private diary entries, let out once but happy to stay quiet. Written by me, for me.
I have other louder ones too though which I have a different view of.

    1. Oh great. Just send me an email whenever, with the post you would like to share and the reasons you have for choosing that particular one.

  5. Sounds like a great idea! I’ll have a look – sometimes I dust off a post that is lost and lonely in the archives. I have a feeling you’re going to have a lot of positive replies to this one 🙂

    1. I think it is a good way of allowing one of your posts come into the limelight again, and new people reading it, not the readers of your blog who have perhaps already seen it.
Looking forward to seeing what you choose and why.

Comments are always welcome.
