Shamelessly seeking nomination for Irish blog award.

blogawardsphoto

I was wondering if any of my fellow bloggers would consider nominating me for one of these awards.
I am not expecting to win it but it would be nice if I could make contact with some of my own countrymen and get my blog and writing out there.
The details are here.http://www.blogawardsireland.com/nominations-open/

If you do decide to nominate me I’d be really chuffed.
I was thinking of the entry “Best newcomer”, other than that I do not know where I would fit unless “personal blog”.

The details required are

Your full name.
Your email address.
My email: 1tric@eircom.net
The date of my first post: 28/01/2013
My web address:https://mythoughtsonapage.com/

Reasons for nomination.
I have two suggestions
1. Lie if you can’t think of anything nice to say about me.
2. Do not say “because she asked me to!”

This is the first time I have actually decided to take my blog seriously and put it out there!
Thank you even if you don’t get the time to nominate me.
Also if you do have another favorite Irish blogger you might consider nominating them, I will never find out!

Normal non begging posting will resume tomorrow.

    1. Thank you so much. When I am rich and famous I will name drop you donofalltrades in my posts, or maybe I would do something we would both prefer, sit and have a few drinks together some day, preferably in West Cork! Thanks again I was so embarrassed posting that post, but the only other choice I had was to nominate myself!

        1. It’s Ireland we are all chancers over here! I think it would be helpful to have a few nominations,,,,,, so it stays up, However it will always be you who were my first! ๐Ÿ™‚

        1. Lol I wasn’t born there, but my grandparents were and my parents had some of their children there. Also my aunts and uncles with their families live in Ireland and in Scotland, so I have more family there then I do here ๐Ÿ™‚

My family hasn’t decided which side of the pond we like best so they tend to jump back and forth ๐Ÿ™‚

        2. Wow you are definitely an honorary/real Irish woman. Aptly nick named,” Irish.” And knowing a bit of Irish sealed it for you. ๐Ÿ™‚

        3. Been my nick name for a long time! And knowing a bit of Irish is important around my cousins who talk so fast English doesn’t always work for them, lol. Can’t wait to visit them as Ireland will always hold a piece of my heart.

    1. Thank you so much. I am mortified, or as we Dubs would say “I’m scarlet!” I really am so very grateful. Your very good to take the time. Thanks again

    1. Thank you. I am not too confident about winning but I would like to get to know a few of my Irish bloggers. I really appreciate you taking the time. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Done! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to repay, in some small measure, the delight of having your posts to read every day. You make me laugh, you make me cry, I love your transparency, wit, and writing style. Hope the award makes it into your little hands!

    1. Thank you so much. I hope you also know how much I appreciate you reading and taking the time to comment. I always enjoy our conversations. Thanks again, very much.

    1. I will of course. I think it is August before they announce anything. To be honest I don’t think I have a hope in hell but it was a personal challenge to put myself out there. So thank you so much.

      1. I think it’s very brave and huge to put yourself out there. Nothing to lose and everything to gain from it. Nothing to get scarlet about, only way a writer can get recognized is by putting themselves out there, no one else is going to do it, so bravo, and I can’t wait to see what happens in August. Think other writers are happy to do this for you, a writer they admire )

        1. Thank you. You are right a writer has to put themselves out there, but I don’t even think of myself as a writer, just someone who blogs/writes.
I don’t think I have a prayer but what odds. I’m happy to have tried. Thanks again.

  2. having extolled others to nominate you, I was a bit tardy in doing so myself – a combination of ill health and restructuring/re-organisation at work that has left me with little time to do any blogging this week

    however, i’ve done it tonight

good luck, tric – seriously, you deserve to win !

P.S., don’t hold your breathe though.

No 2 son texted me this afternoon to say his girlfriend’s 3 month pregnant – the baby due 7th jan 2014 and they are moving from Amsterdam back to Birmingham next month, so I’ve drank a bottle of wine tonight to celebrate the news (didn’t realise how much I love and miss the little b*gger) so I’m not at all sure my reasons (hic) for nominating you might be as coherent (hic) as I (hic) intended

P.P.S. I thought it prudent not to enquire if the mother of my 4th grandchild is the woman he went off to Amsterdam with a couple of years ago or someone new I have yet to meet !

    1. Congrats Grandpa! I am delighted for your double good news, a returning son and a grandchild in the New Year. I too will drink to that tonight!
Thanks so much for the nomination and the post yesterday. I really appreciate it. I haven’t a hope in hell of winning but for me I am still quite a secret blogger with only a few knowing about my blog here. This took me way out of my comfort zone, asking others for nominations and putting my blog out there. However fellow bloggers like you have made it much easier and less embarrassing than I thought.
So if you’re still awake after your wee celebratory dram, a big Thank You.

  3. Done!

I was almost going to nominate you in the Humorous category because I thought this one was just too funny…and brilliant! But to hopefully get you in for real…I put in with the New comer one nod nod.

    Gooooo you!

    1. Thank you so much. I am delighted you gave me the nudge to make contact. I really appreciate your taking the time to nominate. Humor is my first love but I do go through periods where I get a bit deep! There are thousands nominated but sure what the heck if your not in you can’t win!

    1. My mum always said “You get nothing if you don’t ask”. Thanks a million, By the way, you did my stats the world of good catching up on my posts this morning. ๐Ÿ™‚
