When you decide to skip Monday…

Yesterday I had lots planned for today, after all it was Monday, the day after the weekend, the first day of the working week for most. Then my eldest said,

“Tomorrow is my only day off until the end of June. Will we do something?”

I should have taken the time to think about it, after all it was Monday she was talking about, but instead, as quick as if I were back at school and getting the chance to skip class, I said,

“Yes, where will we go?”

And that is how it came to pass that on a glorious day of sunshine my eldest and I headed for the Galtees to climb Galtymore. While others were working and ‘doing Monday’ we were sitting at the top of the world, enjoying our lunch and an amazing view.

I thought I’d grown out of skipping school, turns out I’ve not grown up after all, but…Life doesn’t last forever and I don’t wish to live with regrets.

  1. Yup, I like your version of skippin’ school to my version of “Snow/Free day!” – – LOL – now…to just train myself to not wait for a blizzard to play hookey! 🙂

    1. We were so lucky the day turned out to be so beautiful. The sun shone and there wasn’t a breeze (which I could have done with).
