Are you having a ‘good’ day?

It’s been raining for weeks here, or at least it seems that way. Today I went for a walk with a friend. We thought it would lash, but it didn’t. Not only did it not rain, but the sun decided to come out.

As we ambled along chatting I felt my mood lighten and for a moment I forgot about the past many weeks of rain. I even began to remember how beautiful it is here in Ireland when the rain stops.

We paused at the top of the hill to take the time to see and appreciate what was around us. And as I headed for home, I couldn’t but think how life was so like our walk.

Rainy days do indeed threaten to drown us at times, but when we get a clear moment it’s good to look around and take the time to appreciate what we have, while we have it.

I hope regardless of the weather where you are, that you are enjoying a good day.

    1. Yes we were flying along, chatting away before we decided to slow down and take in the view for a moment. It was right then I thought of this post.

  1. We must be having your share as well as our usual, Tric. It’s been howling and pouring since before midday. And still going strong. I must admit, it gets to me. I can’t abide the grey days. Even hubs is acknowledging how miserable it is and he usually just says, ‘It’s only weather.’ Really tics me off when he says that. :/
Maybe we’ll get some of your clearer skies heading this way. Could sure do with some.

  2. Boy am I glad I missed the Irish winter this year. I’m in Medellin, Colombia – ‘City of Eternal Spring’, except their Spring is like our Summer. We could do with some rain over here 😉

  3. Hi Tric, I found the answer to the rain or hubby gave it to me – waterproof and windproof gear. Now it doesn’t matter what it’s doing. I’m just out in it and loving the different moods. The gear is dark so everything else looks brighter!

  4. I agree with you, Tric. After the rain stops, it’s always a good idea to look around, take stock, and think of all the things we have to be grateful about, such as ownership of an umbrella. 🙂
