Today I wanted to post a very special post to my mum and dad. Yesterday was their anniversary. Sixty three years ago they made their vows, promising to love and cherish each other.
As they danced that evening as husband and wife, their chosen song was ‘I’m walking behind you,’ by Eddie Fisher.
Sadly for Mum and Dad their love story ended all too soon. This is Mum’s thirtieth anniversary without Dad, but I hope as she looked over her shoulder yesterday, she felt him walking behind.
‘Cos I’ll always love you
Wherever you go
And though we are parted
I want you to know
That if things go wrong, dear
And fate is unkind
Look over your shoulder
I’m walking behind
Happy anniversary to your parents Tric. What a beautiful song. And how lovely, to know he is walking behind her.
Thank you Colleen. My heart broke a little posting it.
