Newsflash…You’d better sit down!

I can’t tell you all how happy and emotional I am to tell you that today I signed a contract with a literary agent! Yes, read that again if you must. It’s true, Faith O Grady, from the Lisa Richards Agency will take my memoir and do her best to find it a home.

When I began to write this blog, over six years ago, I regularly posted asking questions such as “Is a blogger a writer?” or my biggest conundrum, “Must I be published to call myself a writer?” Each time I asked, you, my readers, answered, (probably at times shaking your heads, thinking, oh for goodness sake, get over yourself), but you always answered, with encouragement and kindness.

Then there were those in Facebook land, many of who know me in real life, but many more who I have never met. You too encouraged me regularly with kind comments, likes and emoji’s.

So, tonight, it being a Friday night I’d like you all to join me in my celebrations, because quite honestly, I couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you one and all, family, friends, writer friends and online friends.

And a final acknowledgement to two very special people who will not be there tonight when I pour myself a glass of wine. My lovely, kind, caring dad, who himself was a most wonderful writer and my amazing, strong beautiful mum.

I hope, wherever you are, you are both smiling tonight.

    1. Fingers crossed Michael. It’s lovely to have an agent happy with my writing, especially as I’m often not 100% happy with it myself.

  3. Oh I am so excited and thrilled to read this wonderful news Tric. It is entirely deserved and I can’t wait to read the book. There is nothing I adore more than seeing people who spend most of their time championing the achievements of others have thrilling successes like these. Sending you hugs and lots and lots of love. 4. That is wonderful news! I look forward to reading your memoir soon! I will celebrate with you when I get home. I really needed a reason for a glass of wine, that is beside the fact that I just wanted one!
